Almost a month later and I am just now posting. So here is the delivery story...
It was a great day (Sept 29th). I picked up Emerson from school and Gregg got off work early. We took the afternoon to hangout because I was scheduled to go in on the 30th to be induced. During the pregnancy almost every Friday night we would eat Larry's Pizza. I craved their cheeseburger pizza...yummmm! So, we ate there. While eating I began having contractions. So, lets rewind...a week and a half ago I went to the hospital having contractions only to have to do the "walk of shame." They sent me home because I didn't progress any. So, I really didn't start monitoring the contractions. Not sure if I was in denial because I was suppose to go in the next day or maybe that I didn't want to do the "walk of shame" again. So, we ate and then went home. Had movie night with Emerson and then put her to bed and then we started getting ready for bed. So, we are in bed and the contractions are getting stronger. We start to time them and they are 2-4 minutes apart. We were wondering what to do so we called the labor and delivery at Baptist. They pretty much told us that we could do what we wanted. We waited about 45 more minutes and then decided to go on to the hospital. My mom was already here and staying the night. So we told her we were going to go on to the hospital. Before we could get to the interstate we get pulled over! Yes I said we got pulled over! And whats better is that the police officer said I didn't have my radar on but you looked like you were going a little fast and did you know that you have a headlight out? Gregg's response was yes, we are on our way to the hospital she is in labor!!! The cop looks at me then all frazzled said ok well go but you need to get the headlight fixed. We were laughing so hard! So we get to the hospital and get all checked in. They checked me and I was 100% effaced and at 3 cm. Then within an hour I have Noah!!! Shortly after the nurse checks me, the nurse asked if I wanted any meds for pain. They explained that the med could make me tired...sedated like. I didn't want to feel out of control so I declined it. Then a little after that the contractions were VERY strong and I was in pain. I told the nurse that I wanted that med now but she said that if I could wait the anesthesiologist would be there in about 15 min. Then I felt like I needed to push..Gregg called the nurse in...she checked me and then you hear the panic in her voice, "I need help in here." Yeah, I was at 10 cm and Noah was ready to be here. At this point I freak out a little, I mean I didn't have any pain meds and I didn't have my epidural. I was suppose to have an epidural...NO pain please!!! So, I look at the nurse and said, "This is not how I had is planned!" They had to calm me down a bit and tell me to push. Thank goodness it only took a few pushes!!! I hope I don't offend anyone but I would NEVER choose to give birth without meds/epidural!!! So, Mr Noah made it here with only nurses delivering him. Yes, that is correct he came so quick I didn't get any meds, no epidural and no doctor! Lol! Noah was born at 1:20am weighing 7lbs 13oz and 21 inches long!!! He is just perfect!!!
