Week 27

Yep, Emmie is already 27 weeks old!! And look at the belly, I didn't realize it looks that big!! But that is a good thing!!! 3 more months and she will be here! Can you believe it??? We have got to work on her room!! I hope to have pictures of a finished room after the weekend of the 18th. My plan is to get it cleaned out and painted by then.

Not much to tell you about. Some changes I have noticed include...a little swelling in my feet and hands, my stomach gets really tight after I eat, it is getting hard to bend over, leg cramps. But I have had a really easy pregnancy so I am not complaining!! I promise!!

Week 25

So, I always have Gregg take a few different pictures to give me some choices for the post. Look at how different my belly looks in these different angles. I look sooo much bigger on the right!!

Well, we had this months dr's appointment on Monday. I had to do the glucose test. Your blood sugar has to be under 120 and mine was 130.

So, I go back this Wednesday for a 3 hour test. PLEASE say a little prayer that I pass and that I don't have gestational diabetes!! I am really not that worried. I have been checking my blood sugar at work and so far the highest it has been has been 101. Also, they told me I gained 11 lbs this month!! It took me 5 months to gain about 10 lbs and then I gained 11 lbs in 1 month!! I am trying to eat a little better because I was eating crap! I don't want to continue to gain like that!!

I feel her move all the time. Gregg has felt her a couple more times! I love feeling her move it is the most amazing feeling! It is like little "hello mommy" from her!!

This past weekend Sarah and I went to a bunch of garage sales. We had a blast!! I got Emmie lots of books, including my favorite...Green Eggs and Ham!! I found a bookshelf and a little recliner for when she gets a little bigger. Oh, and the deal of the day...a brand new bouncy seat for $5. It still had its tags on it!! We found some accessories at Hobby Lobby that will match her room perfectly. I got the fabric for her bedding last week and we are going to take it to Nana this weekend. I am ready to get her room done!! My vision of the room is so cute!! BUT...we have to get started. Every time I go in there, I look around and don't know where to start. We still have to pack everything up! I was looking at the calendar and we have something going on every weekend until Dec 16th!! We will have to start packing up and painting during the week I guess!!

We are going to the Razorback game this Saturday!! I am so pumped and ready to go to a game! I love Little Rock games and tailgating!! We always have soooo much fun!! I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!! And...Go Hogs Go!!!

She's a Movin'

Last night Emerson was very active. I have Gregg put his hand on my belly all the time but she is never strong enough for him to feel. BUT...last night he felt her!!! We were both so excited!! And then, later on, I saw her kick or move or something. The left side of my belly moved!! It was the coolest thing!! I hope everyone is having a good weekend!! It is cloudy and kind of cold outside. I am thinking it will be a good day to make some chili!!

Playing Catch Up

Well, the last week and a half has been a busy one! I will try to catch you up...

On Friday, 9-29-06, Taylor (Gregg's cousin) was in a car accident that took her life. She was such a beautiful and sweet girl! She had a smile that could light up a room! She was passionate about softball and cheerleading. And had won many awards in both. She was suppose to part of the Gillett Homecoming court this past Friday. They did a great tribute to her. They read all of her accomplishment and had a chair with her Homecoming pillow in it. I ask for everyone to keep Taylor's mom and family in your prayers! She was a joy in all of our lives!!

Saturday, 9-30-06, Rosco turned 2!!! Happy Belated Birthday, Booger!!! We didn't get to do much. I was off on Friday, so I had made him a carrot peanut butter cake with cottage cheese icing!! YUMMM!! Well, to the dogs at least!! Don't worry it is doggy safe!! And he got some tennis balls for his b-day, which are his FAVORITE!!

This past weekend was Gregg's 10 year class reunion! It was fun!! We went to Homecoming in good ole Gillett. On Saturday, we grilled hamburgers at Arkansas Post and then had dinner at his dad's restaurant. Oh, did I tell ya that he graduated with 19 people!!! We had fun!!

Yesterday, we had a 3D ultrasound done!! It was amazing!! Of course we just think Miss Emerson is just beautiful!! She is a little acrobat also. She had her feet by her head the entire time! She weighs 1.4 lbs!! They usually do these ultrasounds at 28 weeks and she will be 23 weeks on Wednesday. We may get to have it done again then!! Hope you enjoy all the pics!! I will go ahead and throw in a belly shot. I guess I am showing, I had 4 strangers say something to me today!! It is about time!! I am happy to show her off!!

In memory of
Taylor LeeAnn Carter
We Love You and We Will Miss You Deeply!

~I'm Free~
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back, and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
a friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee,
God wanted me now, he set me free.

21 Weeks

Well, here is another cheesy belly picture!! We are at week 21! It seems to be going by so quickly! We have a lot to do...start on her room...clean it out, paint it, get furniture, get bedding. The list goes on and on. But it is exciting! We have to register and I have no idea what to get. What is the best? What is the safest? But once again it will be fun! I love being able to feel her move now. Gregg tries to feel but her kicks aren't strong enough. It makes it real! It is so neat when I feel her, I actually have this little being growing inside of me. And the love that we have for her. I can't even explain it!! Ok, I am rambling now. So, that is it for now. I hope everyone has a good rest of the week!

It's Official!!!

I had a dr's appointment today and they did another ultrasound. And they confirmed that it is a girl!! So, now I can start on her room and get more clothes with confidence!! They said everything looks good!! When the dr did the Doppler to hear the heart beat he said he could feel her move around. I feel her a little bit but not that much. I guess I need to start paying attention more!! I just love ultrasound!! I love being able to look at her!! Oh, she weighs about .8lb!! I will try to post some pics later!!

Week 19

Well, I am actually 19 1/2 weeks! I never seem to do this on the right day, which is Wednesday! We have a dr's appointment this Thursday. They are going to do another ultrasound to tell us the sex. They don't know we already know!! We just hope they agree it is a girl!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think I have figured out the baby bedding! I went to Cynthia East today and the sweetest girl, Jill, helped me out! Now, I will just have to figure out how much it will be to have it made. Oh, did I say that Gregg's Nana is going to make it for us!! So, I just have to worry about the cost of the fabric!
This is my inspiration for the room!
This is what we will probably use!
Dots on the outside of the bumper, stripes as the piping and lime green for the inside of the bumper. I am not sure how we will do the skirt. I will either have a hot pink or lime sheet. And I think I want the ties to be hot pink. We will see!! Oh, and I plan on painting the room light pink. Like the light pink in the dot fabric! One more thing, the crib will be black!
Week 18
She is growing!! The belly is getting bigger!! Not much to talk about. Gregg and I have been walking at our local park every night. Today we saw some peewee football teams practice. They were so cute!! It has been so beautiful outside!! I have been having some hip pain and leg cramps. The dr's office said it is probably due to Miss Emmie growing. Oh, wait I do have some exciting news....I will be working full time or should I say as a full time employee at Children's starting Monday!! Yeah!!!
Penny
A friend of mine sent this e-mail to me the other day. I liked it so much that I wanted to share it will everyone! You will never look at the penny the same way.
You always hear the usual stories of pennies on the sidewalk being good luck, gifts from angels, etc. This is the first time I've ever heard this twist on the story. Gives you something to think about..
Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband's employer's home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house. The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.
As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment. Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny. He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?
Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value. A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it o ut for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?
"Look at it." He said. "Read what it says."
She read the words " United States of America"
"No, not that; read further."
"One cent?"
"No, keep reading."
"In God we Trust?"
"Yes!" "And?"
"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!
When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the message. It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful!
And, God is patient... The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:
1 cross + 3 nails -------- 4 given.
That's the whole gospel message simply stated.
