2 Weeks Old!!

Here is our little sweetie! She is doing so good! She is sleeping at least for 4 hours at night! Which means we are only having to get up twice in the middle of the night! She is trying to hold her head up! She is drinking about 3 ounces every feed! She has grown out of her preemie diapers! She loves her swing! She is such a good baby! God answered our prayers! We are very blessed!

First Doctor's Appointment

Emerson had her first dr's appointment on Feb 14th. We took this picture before our visit. The visit went well!! When we left the hospital Emmie had lost a little weight, she went down to 6.9lbs. She now weighs 7.1lbs and grew 3/4 of an inch which makes her 19 3/4 inches now!!! She did so good! She usually gets upset when we have to change her clothes. I think it is because she gets cold. We had to take her clothes off for her to be weighed and examined, she didn't get upset at all!! She was so good that I got her some bling pacifiers!!!

Emmie is about to wake up so I can't write a lot. Here are some pics of our precious sweet pea! I will try to keep you guys updated with new pics but it is amazing how busy I stay. Oh and if you couldn't tell in last post the pictures wouldn't down load. We love you guys and Emerson looks forward to meeting everyone!

Well She Is Here...

Our precious baby had finally arrived and on her actual due date!! She is already an over achieverl!! Ha!Ha! Well, we think she is the most beautiful baby in the world! Miss Emerson was born at 4:49pm on Feb 7, 2007. She weighed 6lbs 13oz and is 19 inches long.

So here is how that day went...
I woke up around 6am that morning and felt pressure. I wasn't sure if the pressure was contractions or not. They continued every 5 min so on our way into work I decided to call the dr. He thought I might be in early labor but wanted to see me at 9:30am to make sure. So, I decided to go on into work. I was scared to tell anyone because I didn't want to feel like a fool if I wasn't in labor.

So, I make it to the dr office where I have to wait an hour because the dr on call is already delivering a baby. I finally got checked and they said I was at 3 cm and that they were sending me over to the hospital!!! It didn't feel real...I was going to have her that day!

To our surprise a friend of ours, Dana, was working and was going to be our nurse!! I am so glad she was, she made me feel so comfortable!! So, I got there around 11 am and got checked in. I got my epidural around noon. I progressed a little. Then I progressed from 6cm to 10cm in around 30 minutes! The epidural was AWESOME!!! I never felt a contraction!! I just felt pressure but it wasn't bad pressure. So, then I started pushing and had her in about 30-45 more minutes!!

It was the greatest moment! Gregg is SOOOO awesome with her! He is so patient and helps me to more calm and less stressed. She is the most beautiful little girl! And the love we have for her is unexplainable! Well, I guess that is enough babbling. I know you guys would like to see some pictures. So, here is our beautiful Miss Emerson Taylor Kathleen!

Update...

I had a dr's appointment today. Everything went well! I am 90% effaced but still 1 cm. He went ahead and scheduled an induction date for Feb 16th. I am so excited! I have a date to look towards. So if we don't have her before then, Miss Emerson will be meeting us on the 16th!!

The dr said I am progressing well and that he likes for his patients to try to go naturally meaning without the induction. He also measured me and said that she doesn't appear to be a big baby. So, I am assuming that means 6-7 lbs. We heard the heart beat and it sounded good and strong!

I am in such a good mood now that I know she will be here by the 16th if not sooner! We have a new count down...possibly 10 more day until Emerson Taylor Kathleen will be here!!!!!

Week 39

Well, I had a dr's appointment today. I am still dilated to 1 cm but I am effaced 70%. So, I need to go 30% and 9 more cm!! If she isn't here, I go back on Tuesday, Feb 5th, and I think we will talk induction at that time. Everyone has there bets on when she will be born. A lot of people at Gregg's work thinks tomorrow or this weekend. There is a full moon and they think she will come because of that. So we will see!

I have gotten over the nervousness of child birth but now I am nervous about being a mom. I just want to be the best for her! I want to do the best! I am so excited for her to get here! I am ready to see what she looks like, to hold her, love her!!
